European Diplomacy Championship

The 18^th European Diplomacy Championship will take place in the 16th District of Paris, on August 27^th, 28^th and 29^th August 2010. The high school Notre-Dame-des-oiseaux will host the convention on the 12 rue Michel Ange, in Paris, for the pleasure of everyone. The tournament will take place in the main room of the high school with a large area of negociation, indoor and outdoor. There will be a bar with drinks and food.

The 18^th European Championship of Diplomacy is not a simple tournament where the only slogan could be: I want to win, I want to win. What would the game Diplomacy without all the good moments of good humor and companionship which follow to each game. The event, organised in cooperation with the organiser of the tournament of Seattle (USA), will associate the ambience of the game in Europe and North America for an unforgettable weekend.

Meet us on Thurday evening between 18:00 and 00:00 at the hotel La Louisiane for a nice party which will open the championship. You will meet the players who are coming from everywhere around the world. A drink will be offered during the opening party of the convention.

On Friday noon starts the European Diplomacy Championship. Discover, during the first round, the style of the american games : a no-limit game with longer deadline to have more time to negociate. The registration starts at 12:30 and the first round starts at 13:30

The evening will be the time to pack the boards and knives. To spend a good night in Paris, we suggest you to go in a good restaurant together followed by the discovery of many bars which have made the legend of Saint-Germain-des-Pres. If you want an evening game to relax yourself, an area will be reserved in the Hotel La Louisiane. Bring to Paris your boardgames, strategy games or favorite card games.

Saturday morning after a long or short night, we will fall in the European atmosphear with two 8-years games. Registration for the second round starts at 9:15 and the round runs between 10:00 and 14:30. Lunch break, it's time to breathe, to enjoy a good meal and replay 7 times the game with all the good faith that characterizes good players of Diplomacy. The third round, at 15:00, is the big rendez-vous of the tournament : the team round.

When the games will be finished, we will go to the center of Paris to spend a go time together. You will discover the pleasure of the night in Paris. You will be able to make some boardgames in the hotel La Louisiane. An area will be booked for that.

Sunday morning, after another long or short night, that last day of the tournament will start. At 10:00, when the final round will start, the pressure will be higher. The seven best players, who have shown the best diplomatic skill, are going to measure their own strength in the unbearable suspense of the top board. The goal will be the title of 18^th European champion of Diplomacy. The other players could participate in this final round to improve their ranking, which could even enable them to get a place on the podium, or simply for the pleasure of playing a good game of Diplomacy.

The Award Ceremony will take place at 15:00, the time of happiness and disappointment! But whatever happens, you will keep a good memory of that weekend in Paris.
